PARENTS:

· Welcome back to school and Happy New Year everybody. The news is that all the wonderful children in Scoil an Linbh Iosa had a lovely time at Christmas and that they were all very happy on Christmas morning.

· Our Christmas Carol singing, in contrast to last year, was a great success this year without the snow and ice. Thanks to all who came out to listen to us and to cheer us on at the Headford Road Shopping Centre, Bank of Ireland and the Live Crib. Special thanks to all the teachers who helped with our singing and music. We did not collect any money and regard our music as our contribution to the community.

· We hope you all enjoyed our Christmas Concert. We are so proud of all our superstars and the teachers who helped them to be superstars.

· Committee of School Parents Association met again on Tuesday 17th January.

· Please make sure that we have up to date telephone numbers and addresses for you, otherwise it will be difficult for you to receive important information by post or by text.

· We are going to have some changes on staff. Ms. Norena Jordan will be taking over as Principal from Mrs. Anne Ryan in late February. We wish them both well.

· Tickets for the Peace Proms Concert, which takes place on 4th February, are on sale in the Town Hall Theatre.

· This years’ Credit Union Table Quiz will be held in this school on Friday, 3rd February.

· A few reminders connected to the law.

o We would like to remind you that, there is no smoking allowed in the school building or in the school grounds, including the yard/playground areas.

o The Board of Management of the School must report any concerns regarding Child Welfare and Protection to the HSE .

o Where a child has been absent from school for 20 or more days, a report will be made to the National Educational Welfare Board.
