Dear Parents,
Ø It is
hard to believe that another school year is coming to an end. We would like to
take this opportunity to thank you for your help and co-operation during the
year. We look forward to working with you next year and hope that you have a
lovely summer.
Ø We
need to order our school books for next year, therefore all monies owed for
Book Rental need to be in by this Wednesday, 26th June. Thank you to
those of you who have already paid.
Ø School Book Lists
and next year’s school calendar will be distributed on Thursday, 27th
June.
News from our
classrooms
Ø All of
our classes really enjoyed Sports Day and their school tours. The classes
visited Turoe Pet Farm, St. Brigid’s Garden, Athenry Heritage Centre and the
University of Limerick.
Ø We had a
fantastic day last Thursday, 20th June when the Lord Mayor, Terry O’
Flaherty came to plant a tree in our roof-top garden and she also raised our
fifth green flag for biodiversity. It was a wonderful day for all of us and a
lot of work and preparation went in to us being awarded the flag and we thank
everyone involved – it was a real school community affair!
Ø Rooms
3 and 9 really enjoyed the American students, Erika and Adi who were visiting
them. They also enjoyed a fruit picnic together in the park.
Ø Room
16 welcome Esha to their class.
Ø All
classes are taking advantage of the nice weather and heading out and about on
nature trails and also visiting our roof-top garden.
Ø We say ‘Goodbye’ to our 6th
Class and 1st Class boys this week – we will miss you!
Teacher News
We say a fond farewell to two of our teachers who are
retiring: Muinteoir Noelle and Muinteoir Annette. We thank them for all their
years of hard work and commitment to Scoil an Linbh Iosa. As the poem says:

In the hands of a gifted teacher
a

In the hands of a gifted teacher,
There’s a smile
on each child's face.

Everywhere.

There’s a Catalyst who Genuinely
Cares.
In the Hands of a Gifted Teacher
Desire and Wonder is Awakened.
In the

The Educational Agenda is Shaken.
In the Hands of a

Self-Management Skills are Modeled.
In the Hands of a Gifted

The Best of Reality is Bottled.
In the Hands of a Gifted Teacher
Gifts
and Talents are Refined.

The Willed Future is
Designed.
