Dear Parents:
The next
meeting of the Parents Association will take place on Tuesday, 19th
November at 1pm in the Parent’s Room. Please come along.
Thank you for
your participation and co-operation with pupils entering the hall alone and
then leaving the school building.
Pupils may wear their tracksuits everyday.
We are
currently in the process of upgrading our back playground. To date, two
springers, fun wall fittings and a mural have been put in place. More equipment
will be installed over the coming weeks.
Congratulations
to William and Eloise Corcoran who now have a new baby brother.
For the first time, we are entering eight pupils in the Cumann na
mBunscoil Cross-Country running on Thursday, 14th November. The
event takes place in Renmore at 1pm and we encourage you to come along and
support our girls. Thanks to Muinteoir Aoife and Ann-Marie for organising the
event.
Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place
next week, Wednesday, 20th November and Thursday, 21st
November. Invitations will be sent to you this week and we ask that you return
the slip immediately to let us know
whether you will attend. These meetings are very important and provide you with
a great opportuinty to discuss how your child is getting on in school.

We are working on our sixth Green Schools theme. It is called "Global Citizenship-Litter and Waste". The pupils will learn how to make a positive difference in the world while working on this theme.

Room 5
won the Golden Boot Award for being the best walkers to school.
The next ‘Fit for Friday’ will
take place on December, 6th. Come on out and meet us all in Tesco
car park at 8.20am to walk to school together!
News from Our Classrooms
All of
our classes participated in maths trails for Maths Week.
5th
& 6th Classes had a visit by a lecturer from NUIG to do some fum
maths activities with them. They also went to a maths workshop in NUIG.
Room 5
had a visit from a local poet, Geraldine Mills for a poetry workshop as part of
Euro-Child. They then went to the Galway City Library to read their poems.
Room 5
will also begin their Junior Achievement programme this term – the theme they
will be working on is ‘Our World.’
There are
wonderful displays throughout the school of great handwriting samples.
Room
10 are enjoying working with their students, Emer and Morgan. They also have a
Spanish student, Ursula and are learning Spanish and about Spain. Muinteoir
Aoife has alos launched ‘Quick Reads’ and Room 10 get to read lots of exciting
new books.
Senior
classes have started working on Christmas Carols for our school choir and band.
This
week is Science Week and 5th and 6th Classes are looking
forward to their trip to GMIT fo the ‘Science Forward’ event.
