March Newsletter 2014

Dear Parents:
·      Well done to all the parents who attended our recent First Aid course.
·      A special thanks to the parents who participated in the focus group with the recent Inspectors who visited our school.
·      Our school evaluation went very well with the Inspectors who came to visit us. They were impressed with the teaching and learning that we provide to our pupils and our relationship and partnership with the parent body and outside agencies.
·      We are looking for volunteers to help with our roof-top garden. Please get involved in making our garden a nice place for our pupils to visit and use. Contact Aoife on 085 1121001.
·      English classes continue in the Parents’ Room every Tuesday morning.
·      Thanks is also extended to the parents who came to the book launch of ‘One Book, One Galway,’ with Room 17.
·      After-School activities this term include: Irish Dancing, Digital Media, GAA Football and Hip-Hop Dancing.
·      Unform survey results: Keep the same uniforms and tracksuits.
·      We request that you take holidays when the school is closed.
·      We are legally obliged to notify the Education Welfare Officer of 20 days absences.
·      We had a wonderful World Book Day – thank you for dressing-up your children. We collected €197 for Book Aid International, which will buy books for children in Africa.
·      Our classes for next year are all very nearly full.    If you need to enrol a child please contact us immediately.

We are also watching out for the first swallows to return to Galway from Africa so please email us or send a photo if you see one. If you notice any swallows nesting near our school please let us know also.
