PARENTS:

· Very busy time with lots happening.

· Our classes for next year are all very nearly full. If you need to enrol a child please do so immediately.

· If your child has had to have a change of clothes at school, you might please make sure that clothes supplied by the school are returned to the school.

· A new series of after school activities will begin in March. Look out for a letter giving details.

· In line with the Croke Park Agreement teachers are busily working, outside of school hours, on continuous professional development, staff meetings, supervision, policy development etc.

· Great Green Flag News and well done to our WOW Walkers. Keep up the great work.


*WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US

*Happy New Year to all our Chinese pupils. This year is the Year of the Rabbit.

*Well done to the girls from Room 5 and Room 12 who took part in the Credit Union Quiz. They came second in the Quiz. Well done Shaina, Mary C., Charis and Sarah S. and well done teachers.

*Maeve (Room 12) met the Mayor as she collected her prize in City Hall. Her painting was published in the Environment Calendar.

*Room 12 have had a very successful time. They won the ‘Golden Boot’ for January.

*Girls from Room 16 and Room 5 have their Service of Reconciliation and Service of Light on Thursday, 17th February, 7.30 p.m., the Abbey in preparation for First Communion & Confirmation. They are busy preparing for this night. The choir is very busy preparing for all the services.

*All the girls from Room 12 are enjoying learning Italian.

*Ciara in Room 12 has a new baby sister, Holly. Welcome Holly.

*We enjoyed the Book Fair in January and many of us are working at writing our own books. We loved having the writer, Pete Mullineaux

*Rooms 3 & Room 9 visited the City Library and enjoyed a show provided by Pigmut Puppet Theatre.

*Lots of children are planting spring bulbs and seeds.

*Room 5 had a visitor who spoke to them about water pollution on Lough Corrib. They also received an award for coming in the First 100 in Ireland in the Irish Aid Awards.

Closed for St. Patrick’s Day – Thursday, 17th March and Friday, 18th March .

Closing for Easter Holidays, Friday, 15th April. Re-opening Tuesday, 3rd May, 2011.

Any additional closures or early closings will be sent to you as soon as possible.

S.A.L.I. Pre & After School Care will be open throughout the mid-term break. Please contact Paula if you require care for this week. Enrolment for free pre-school for September 2011 and September 2012 ongoing. Very limited availability for September 2011 so hurry if you want to enrol a child.
