Dear Parents:

v The next meeting of the Parents’ Association will take place next Tuesday, 18th November at 1pm in the Parents’ Room. Please come along and join in our school community!
v Several of our classes have enjoyed a variety of events during the Baboro Festival: 
*Room 15 attended the light and sensory show – Amococo, in the Spanish Arch
* Rooms 5 & 10 attended ‘The Odyssey Experience’
*Room 11 participated in a weaving workshop in the library
*Room 7 visitied the library for a ‘Halloween’ workshop
*Room 4 walked to the library and met author Derek Mulveen.
v After-school activities have begun: Knitting (M. Rachel), Arts and Crafts (Laura) and Gaelic Football (M. Ann-Marie & M. Aoife C.) A sincere thank you to these teachers for making these activities possible.
v All classes participated in Maths Activities and Trails for ‘Maths Week.’
v This week is Science week and classes have already participated in science activities – 3rd to 6th Classes had a ‘Cell Explorers’ Workshop.
v We have lots of visiting teachers in our classrooms – we welcome them!
v Food Dudes will be taking place next week.
v Sr. Breda visited all of our classrooms.
v We are very proud of former past pupil, Saoirse Joyce and sister of Fainche from Room 11 who won two gold medals in the World Kickboxing championships over the mid-term break. Congratulations!
v Also, our toilets are for our pupils’ use only. Once you leave the building please do not re-enter.
v We are legally required to report absences of 20 days or more.
v Pupils may wear their tracksuits to school everyday for the cold winter days.
v When your child has been absent for any length of time, it is school policy to send in a note explaining the absence. We thank you for your co-operation.
v Please wait outside the gates until the school gates are opened at 8.35am. This is in the interest of health and safety and we thank you again for your co-operation.
v We also ask you to please leave the building once you have left your child in to us in the hall. Please make use of our Parents’ Room and have a ‘cuppa’ . Please do not remain in the hallway as we do not have enough space.
v Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place on Tuesday, 25th November . Invitations will be sent to you and we ask that you return the slip immediately to let us know whether you will attend. These meetings are very important and provide you with a great opportuinty to discuss how your child is getting on in school.
v We are continuing to work on our School Self-Evaluation. A questionnaire will soon be sent home to you. Please complete the questions as your opinion is a very important part of the process.
v The School Choir and School Band are going to start rehearsing again for Christmas.




Green School News
Room 12 won the Golden Boot Award for being the best walkers to school.
The next ‘Fit for Friday’ will take place on Friday, 5th December. Come on out and meet us in Tesco car park at 8.20am to walk to school together!

There are still vacancies in our pre-school. Please contact Paula 087 7697338 for details. We are very proud of ourselves and would like to thank everyone who contributed to the ‘Team Hope Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.’ We collected 16 boxes! Well done!
