December 2014

Dear Parents:
v Lots of exciting things happening in school: preparing for our concerts and carol-singing.
v We thank you for attending our Parent-Teacher meetings.
v The Parent’s Association met on Tuesday, 18th November and Tuesday, 9th December. We welcome both the familiar and new faces to our meetings.
v It is school policy to make an appointment at the office should you wish to meet/speak to a class teacher. Please do not approach class teachers when they are teaching their class.
v Thank you for being so good about sending children into the hall alone and then leaving the school. We ask you to please remain outside the school gate until the Principal opens the gate.
v If you have a child starting school in September 2015 or if you know someone who has, please make sure that s(he) is enrolled. Our classes are almost full. Forms are available in the office.
v After-School activities come to an end this week. Please collect at the normal time – 2.30pm next week.
v The Board of Management’s annual review of the school’s Child Protection Policy took place on 16th October and its review of the school’s anti-bullying policy and their implementation took place on the 10th December 2014.
v We extend ‘Seasons Greetings’ to all of our families. We have enjoyed working with you during 2014 and look forward to an exciting 2015.

News from Our Classrooms
v Our classes participated in science activities for Science week. They really enjoyed the K’nex workshops and the talk on Global Warming.
v All of our classes are busy rehearsing for their Christmas shows.
v Our senior classes are also very busy practising for our carol-singing.
v We had two very special visitors to our school this week: Bernard Dunne (Boxing Champion) and Saoirse Joyce (Kick-Boxing Champion), a former past pupil.
v Eight of our pupils participated in the Cumann na mBunscol Athletics in Renmore – they did very well!
